Big Oak Tree with Acorns Coloring Page

Tree coloring page2 levels

The big treetop on this oak is a broad cloud of rounded bumps with three leafy curls inside, and it can be colored for whatever season the child picks, or filled with patterns. Below it, the wide trunk curves gently, with an oval hole near the top, a small knot lower down and two bark lines. Two roots spread left and right along a flat ground line. An acorn waits on each side of the tree, cap on top and a short stem curling up.

Each acorn counts as a nut and a cap, which makes 9 spaces on both files. Heavy outlines go with the easy file for ages 3 to 5, lighter ones with the standard file for ages 6 to 8. Paint suits a treetop this size, and for paint the A4 or US Letter PDF is best printed at 100 percent on thicker paper.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the roots go?

Left and right along a flat ground line, one on each side of the trunk. Each root is a separate space, two of the nine with the treetop, the trunk, the hole in the trunk, two acorn nuts and two acorn caps.

Which version is right for a young child?

Choose the easy file for ages 3 to 5, which has heavy outlines. The standard file, with lighter lines, is meant for ages 6 to 8.

Is the hole in the trunk a separate space?

Yes. The oval hole near the top of the trunk is its own space, so it can be colored dark. The small knot and the two bark lines are not counted among the 9.
