Perched Owl on a Branch Coloring Page

Owl coloring page2 levels

A face mask circles the two large eyes of this owl, and a little triangle beak points down from it to a round chest marked with two rows of wavy feathers. Head and body are one egg shape with two short, pointed ear tufts on top. The wings hang at the sides, and two three-toed feet grip the top of a thick branch, with a single leaf hanging under its left end.

Heavier outlines on the easy page suit ages 3 to 5, lighter lines on the standard page suit ages 6 to 8, and all 14 spaces are on both. A simple plan is brown wings and head, a cream face and chest, yellow eyes and a green leaf. The owl is laid out separately for each paper size, so the A4 or US Letter file only needs to print at 100 percent, never shrunk to fit.

Frequently asked questions

Which owl version suits a four-year-old?

The easy version. Its outlines are heavier, which helps a young child keep a crayon inside the 14 spaces. Children of six and up usually prefer the standard version.

What is the owl perched on?

A thick branch. Its two three-toed feet grip the wood, and one leaf hangs under the branch's left end.

Is the face mask meant to be colored?

It can be. Many children leave it white or cream so the eyes pop, but a light brown or gray mask also looks good.
